There are a few Christmas traditions I look forward to every single year, and matching family pajamas are absolutely one of them.

There's just something about everyone getting cozy in their Christmas pajamas, the tree glowing in the background, and the excitement of the season that makes even an ordinary evening feel special.

Now that we have George and Madeline, I love these little traditions even more.

I want them to remember Christmas mornings spent together, the excitement of opening presents, and those cozy evenings when we're all home watching Christmas movies.

And if we're all wearing matching pajamas while making those memories? Even better.

Over the years, I've found myself drawn to Christmas pajamas that feel a little more classic. Beautiful plaids, traditional Christmas reds, deep greens, vintage-inspired Santa prints, and the occasional pink bow for Madeline.

I love playful holiday prints, but I also appreciate styles that feel timeless in family photos.

This year, I'm putting together the Vogue Family Lifestyle Holiday Pajama Edit, featuring some of my favorite brands to shop and the Christmas pajama collections I'm especially excited about for 2026.

Whether you're shopping for matching pajamas for the entire family, something special for your little ones, or a beautiful set for Christmas morning, here's where I'd start.

Why I Love the Matching Christmas Pajama Tradition

One thing I've learned since becoming a mom is that traditions don't have to be elaborate to be meaningful.

Sometimes the smallest things become the memories you treasure most.

For our family, I love the idea of Christmas pajamas being part of the season rather than something we wear only on Christmas Eve.

We can wear them while decorating the tree, reading Christmas books, watching holiday movies, or spending a slow December morning at home.

And with two little ones, I especially appreciate traditions that don't require a lot of planning.

There's no elaborate setup.

No big outing.

Just everyone together, enjoying the season.

I also love looking back at pictures and seeing how much the kids have grown from one Christmas to the next.

The pajamas become part of those memories.

1. Posh Peanut: Whimsical Christmas Prints and Beautiful Family Matching

Posh Peanut is always a brand I love keeping an eye on for seasonal children's clothing.

Their collections are known for playful prints, coordinating styles, and beautiful details that make holiday dressing feel extra special.

For Christmas, I'm particularly drawn to their festive family matching options.

I love the combination of traditional Christmas motifs with more whimsical designs.

And because their holiday assortment includes styles for children and adults, it's a great place to look when you want everyone to coordinate.

What I'm Shopping For

For George, I love classic two-piece pajamas in festive prints.

For Madeline, I love anything with sweet holiday details, especially bows, traditional Christmas colors, or a coordinating nightgown.

And for myself, I want something comfortable enough to actually lounge in all morning.

One thing I especially appreciate about shopping a coordinated collection is that everyone doesn't necessarily have to wear the exact same style.

You can choose different silhouettes in a matching print.

That makes it much easier to find something each family member will enjoy wearing.

Best for: Families who love festive prints, coordinating styles, and soft bamboo-viscose sleepwear.

2. Caden Lane: Classic Christmas Prints With a Sweet, Nostalgic Feel

If you're looking for beautiful Christmas pajamas with a traditional holiday feel, Caden Lane is another brand I'd absolutely explore.

Their 2026 Christmas collection includes everything from festive pajamas to nightgowns and coordinating family styles.

What caught my eye this year is the variety of prints.

There's something about a classic Santa print or a beautiful Christmas plaid that feels so nostalgic.

Cozy Claus

The Cozy Claus collection has that vintage-inspired Santa look I love.

I can picture these pajamas for Christmas morning, with the tree lit up and presents underneath.

It's the kind of print that feels festive without needing a lot of extra styling.

Plaid Tidings

I'm always drawn to plaid during the holidays.

It feels classic, cozy, and timeless.

I especially love plaid pajamas for family pictures because the pattern adds a beautiful Christmas touch without competing with the rest of the scene.

Jolly Ribbons and Peppermint Bows

And of course, I couldn't put together a Christmas pajama edit without including something with bows.

I love a traditional Christmas palette with a little bit of pink mixed in.

It's such a sweet option for little girls while still feeling festive and classic.

Best for: Traditional Christmas styling, coordinating sibling looks, and beautiful holiday photographs.

3. Little Sleepies: Soft, Playful Pajamas for the Whole Family

Little Sleepies is another brand worth looking at if you're shopping for matching family pajamas.

Their 2026 holiday collection includes a variety of festive prints, from traditional checks and plaids to playful holiday designs.

I love that there are options for families who prefer a classic Christmas look and families who want something a little more whimsical.

Holiday Checks

A simple holiday check is such a timeless choice.

This is the kind of pajama print I'd choose if I wanted something festive that would look beautiful in family photographs.

Gingerbread Flurry

Gingerbread prints are always so fun for little kids.

I love this style for Christmas baking days, holiday movie nights, and all those cozy December moments at home.

Disney Mickey & Friends Deck the Halls

Being a Disney-loving family, I always get excited when holiday collections include Disney prints.

There's something extra sweet about combining two things we love: Christmas and Disney.

I think a Disney holiday pajama set would be especially fun for a Christmas movie night or a little holiday surprise.

Best for: Comfortable matching pajamas, playful holiday prints, and Disney-loving families.

4. Classic Christmas Pajamas From Target

I also love finding beautiful seasonal pieces at Target.

Not every family needs or wants to spend a lot on matching Christmas pajamas, especially when you're buying multiple sets.

Target is one of the first places I'd look for affordable holiday sleepwear.

I'm particularly drawn to traditional red-and-green plaids, striped pajama sets, and simple Christmas patterns.

I think the key is choosing a print that feels festive without being too busy.

And if you're planning to buy pajamas for the entire family, finding affordable coordinating pieces can make the tradition much more manageable.

Best for: Budget-friendly family matching and classic Christmas styles.

5. Hanna Andersson: Traditional Holiday Pajamas

Hanna Andersson is another brand I'd consider when looking for timeless Christmas pajamas.

I love the idea of traditional stripes, classic Christmas motifs, and coordinating family styles.

These are the types of pajamas that remind me of childhood Christmas mornings.

Simple, festive, and full of nostalgia.

If you're drawn to a more traditional holiday look, this is definitely a brand worth browsing.

Best for: Classic Christmas patterns and coordinating family sleepwear.

6. How I'm Choosing Our Christmas Pajamas This Year

With so many beautiful holiday collections, narrowing everything down can be surprisingly difficult.

This year, I'm trying to be intentional about what we choose.

I want pajamas that are comfortable, practical, and beautiful enough for all those little holiday memories.

Start With the Christmas Color Palette

Our holiday decor is a mix of traditional Christmas greenery, warm lights, rich reds, and softer neutral details.

I love the classic Ralph Lauren-inspired Christmas look, with a few feminine touches mixed in.

For pajamas, I'm naturally drawn to:

  • Deep Christmas red

  • Forest green

  • Burgundy

  • Cream

  • Traditional tartan plaid

  • Vintage Santa prints

  • Soft blush and pink bows

I think choosing colors that complement our home makes holiday pictures feel a little more cohesive.

But I also don't think everything needs to match perfectly.

Sometimes coordinating colors look even more beautiful than identical outfits.

Choose Comfort First

As much as I love beautiful pajamas, comfort is always the priority.

Especially with toddlers.

I want fabrics that feel soft, styles that are easy to put on, and pajamas that the kids can actually move around in.

For children's sleepwear, I always check the manufacturer's sizing and safety guidance rather than choosing a looser fit simply for extra growing room.

Think About More Than Christmas Morning

I love buying pajamas early enough that we can enjoy them throughout the holiday season.

We have so many fun little December traditions, and I'd love for the kids to wear their Christmas pajamas for more than one morning.

Christmas movie nights, decorating the tree, baking cookies, and reading holiday books are all perfect excuses.

And with our Christmas pajama cookie exchange planned for December, I especially love the idea of having festive pajamas ready for the occasion.

7. Matching vs. Coordinating Christmas Pajamas

One of my favorite ways to style family holiday outfits is to coordinate rather than match every single piece.

For example, George could wear a traditional green-and-red Christmas print while Madeline wears a coordinating pajama set with a little bow detail.

My husband and I could wear a simpler plaid or solid color that complements both.

The result still feels intentional without everyone needing to wear identical pajamas.

I also think this is helpful when a brand doesn't offer every size or style in the same print.

Three Christmas Pajama Looks I Love

The Traditional Christmas Morning

Red plaid, forest green, cream, and classic Christmas prints.

This is my favorite for timeless family photos.

The Sweet and Nostalgic Christmas

Vintage Santa prints, little bows, warm cream, and soft red.

I love this for a cozy, sentimental holiday feel.

The Disney Christmas

Festive Mickey and Minnie prints, traditional Christmas colors, and playful coordinating details.

Perfect for a Disney-loving family.

8. When Should You Buy Matching Family Christmas Pajamas?

My biggest tip is to shop earlier than you think you need to.

If you're trying to coordinate multiple family members, popular prints and sizes can sell out before December.

And it's especially frustrating to find the perfect Christmas pajamas for the kids only to realize the adult sizes are unavailable.

I like to start browsing in October.

That gives us time to choose a print, check everyone's sizes, and have the pajamas ready before our December traditions begin.

It also means we can actually enjoy wearing them throughout the season.

I wouldn't recommend buying a set just because it's popular, though.

I'd rather find something everyone will be comfortable in and genuinely enjoy.

9. Our Favorite Ways to Make Christmas Pajamas Part of the Season

One of the reasons I love this tradition is that it can become part of so many different holiday memories.

Here are a few ways I'd incorporate Christmas pajamas into December.

Christmas Tree Decorating Night

Put on Christmas music, make something cozy to drink, and spend the evening decorating the tree.

I love the idea of having the kids in their holiday pajamas while we decorate.

Christmas Movie Night

Choose a favorite Christmas movie, bring out the blankets, and enjoy a cozy night at home.

Nothing complicated.

Just a little time together.

Christmas Cookie Baking

I think holiday pajamas and Christmas cookies are such a sweet combination.

And I especially love the idea of making this a yearly tradition.

Christmas Eve Books

One of my favorite ideas is setting aside a special Christmas book to read together on Christmas Eve.

Everyone in their pajamas, the Christmas tree glowing, and a quiet moment before the excitement of Christmas morning.

Christmas Morning Pictures

Of course, I love capturing pictures of the kids on Christmas morning.

But I also want to remember to put the camera down and actually enjoy those moments.

The pictures are special.

The memories we're making together are even more important.

10. Shop the Vogue Family Lifestyle Holiday Pajama Edit

I've gathered the brands and styles I'm watching for Christmas 2026 so you can find something that fits your family's style and budget.

I'll continue updating this edit as more holiday collections arrive and as I finalize our family's Christmas pajamas.

The Little Traditions That Make Christmas Special

I think one of the things I love most about motherhood is getting to create the little traditions our children will grow up remembering.

The Christmas music.

The tree lights.

The holiday books.

The cozy pajamas.

The excitement of waking up on Christmas morning.

Matching Christmas pajamas might seem like such a small detail, but I love that they become part of those memories.

And years from now, when I look back at our Christmas pictures, I know I'll be so grateful for those little moments together.

Here's to another season of cozy mornings, beautiful traditions, and making Christmas magic with the people we love most.
