A Real Day in the Life on a Disney Cruise with 2 Under 2

What cruising with a toddler and baby actually looks like—from sunrise cuddles to pirate night magic.

There’s something magical about waking up on a Disney Cruise…

but waking up on a Disney Cruise with 2 under 2?

That’s a completely different kind of magic.

It’s not slow mornings with coffee on your verandah.

It’s not sleeping in.

And it’s definitely not “vacation” in the traditional sense.

Instead, it’s:

Tiny feet running across the stateroom.A baby waking up hungry before sunrise.A toddler shouting “boat!” every time they see water.

And somehow…

It’s even better than I imagined.

If you’re wondering what a Disney Cruise actually looks like with little ones, here’s a real glimpse into our day.

6:00 AM — The First One Is Up

Like clockwork…

Our baby is usually the first awake.

Somewhere between 6:00–6:30 AM, I hear little babbles coming from the pack-and-play.

I quietly scoop her up before she wakes her brother.

And for a few minutes?

It’s just us.

Ocean views. Sleepy cuddles. Soft baby giggles.

Honestly…

These might be some of my favorite moments of the trip.

A huge help for cruise cabin sleep.

7:00 AM — Coffee + Stateroom Chaos

Eventually…

Our toddler wakes up.

And now?

It’s game time.

We’re doing:

  • Diaper changes

  • Pajamas off

  • Outfits on

  • Trying to brush tiny teeth

  • Attempting to drink coffee before it goes cold

Classic mom life…

just floating in the middle of the ocean.

My Mom Uniform:

Most mornings I’m in:

  • Linen shorts

  • A neutral tank

  • Comfortable sandals

  • Hair in a claw clip

Because cruise mornings with toddlers are active.

8:00 AM — Breakfast

We usually head to:

  • Cabanas

    or

  • Main dining breakfast

Depending on moods.

Breakfast with littles usually includes:

One child eating all the fruit.

One child throwing Cheerios.

And me trying to drink coffee while keeping everyone happy.

And honestly?

That’s motherhood.

What We Always Bring:

✔ Snack cup

✔ Water bottle

✔ Bibs

✔ Wipes

10:00 AM — Pool + Splash Pad Time

This is usually the highlight of the morning.

Our toddler loves:

  • Splash zones

  • Deck exploring

  • Watching bigger kids

And our baby usually loves:

Being held…

while still wanting to be part of the action.

What I Always Pack:

✔ Swim diapers

✔ Rash guards

✔ Sunscreen

✔ Towels

✔ Extra clothes

12:30 PM — Nap Time (Or At Least We Try)

This is where flexibility matters.

Sometimes naps happen:

✔ In the stroller

✔ In the carrier

✔ In the stateroom

And sometimes?

They don’t happen exactly as planned.

And that’s okay.

Cruising with littles is less about perfect schedules…

And more about rhythm.

Our Secret Weapons:

2:00 PM — Lunch + Exploring

Post-nap…

We usually:

  • Grab pizza or fruit

  • Walk the upper decks

  • Watch the ocean

  • Explore the ship

This is often when the kids are happiest.

Not rushing.

Not scheduled.

Just being together.

4:00 PM — Character Moments

This is where the magic hits differently.

Watching your toddler:

Freeze…

Smile…

Then run toward Mickey?

It’s unforgettable.

And with babies?

Sometimes they stare in complete awe.

Sometimes they cry.

And honestly?

Both are memories worth keeping.

ShopMy Favorite:

Perfect for photos.

5:45 PM — Dinner

Dinner with littles is…

an experience.

Some nights it’s magical.

Some nights it’s:

Snacks before dinner.Toddler dance breaks. One parent eating while the other walks the baby.

And Disney Cast Members?

They make it feel easy.

7:00 PM — Pirate Night / Evening Magic

This is usually when the day feels unforgettable.

Music.

Lights.

Characters.

Excitement.

Watching your toddler dance in mouse ears…

while holding your sleepy baby?

That’s the kind of memory you never forget.

8:30 PM — Back to the Stateroom

By bedtime…

Everyone is tired.

Parents included.

But as we lay the kids down…

and hear the ocean outside…

There’s usually this moment where I think:

This is hard.

This is beautiful.

And I’d do it all again.

Final Thoughts

Cruising with 2 under 2 isn’t always relaxing.

But it is:

Beautiful.Memorable.Worth it.

And when you stop trying to make it perfect…

That’s when it becomes magical.
